World Day Against Child Labour

Spread the love

Today is 12 June World Day Against Child Labour
2021 International Year for the Elimination of Child Labour

Edcare prefers that the Child labour be abolished without having the family pay for it. To work for the cause of families, forced to let their children miss the cuddle, care and comfort, is a social concern.

EdCaRe on Child Labour

The sorry state is:

5% of Child labour is in urban areas while it is about 14%in rural areas.
70% of child labour is in Agriculture sector, while it is 20% in Services and 10% in Industry.
Generally more of boys are in child labour. But, if the household chores is accounted, then more of girls are in child labour
The number of children on child labour is increasing.
Child labour is an insult upon the power, pride and progress of any institution, from family to the society and the pan world.

However, I am proud.
India is among the 50 countries to have ratified the International Labour Organization’s Protocol on Forced Labour
and much is happening at improving the health and happiness of children and all.
