Today is 15 July, World Youth Skills Day
The Epidemic has disrupted many. Among those are education, employment and experiences to the young. The effect will last for long and much is needed to overcome the setbacks and pursue for better.
From another point of view, the Epidemic is also a watershed event, to have alerted the world, brought them all together and lend support to each other.
This is also an event that has paved way for a Sustainable view, model and action in life, like and labour.
According to ILO, globally, employment has fallen 8.7 per cent for youth and 3.7 percent for adults in 2020. The report further adds that the consequences of this disruption, especially to the youth could last for years.
Young people aged 15-24 have been more severely affected by the COVID-19 crisis than adults.
The world is embarking on a transition towards a sustainable model of development and there is an ever increasing demand for relevant skills.
